Mission Statement
"Striving to promote the idea of growth through sport, the UMass Sport Management Department presents Clif Bar SoccerFest 2008. This dynamic festival provides a safe atmosphere of fun and fair play. We are an interactive community event using soccer as a uniting thread for athletes, students, and families."
Who we are
Clif Bar SoccerFest 2008 is organized by the
Event Management class of the University of Massachusetts' Sport Management Department. Representing one of the leading Sport Management Programs in the world, we are dedicated to organizing and running Clif Bar SoccerFest with the utmost professionalism.
In its sixth year, this non-profit soccer tournament is solely supported by our Partners and participant registration fees. Tournament proceeds go toward the Erik Kjeldsen Scholarship Fund, named after former UMass Sport Management professor Dr. Erik Kjeldsen. Each year the Sport Management Department awards scholarships for two of its students who exemplify academic excellence and work ethic.
Realizing the importance of sports for local youth, the SoccerFest staff aims to build upon the relationship between the Pioneer Valley community and the UMASS men's and women's soccer teams. This year we are delighted to work with Amherst Youth Soccer Association. All AYSA players will participate in Clif Bar SoccerFest 2008, making it the biggest spring soccer tournament for the entire community.
The Clif Bar SoccerFest tournament will take place on Saturday, May 10th at the University of Massachusetts.
